Want more of Paikea's life story? Here's my own words:
I grew up in China and came to America for graduate school. I earned two Masters, one in Computer Science and the other Electrical Engineering. With those degrees I worked in IT, writing many lines of code for corporates and startups. But in 2013, I got rid of all possessions and travelled the country in an old RV. The traveling and nature immersion shot me out of the matrix, started peeling off my Social Anxiety and Complex PTSD, and reveal my true calling. Which is to heal myself, and serve others and Mother Earth.
I've journeyed so, so, so far after those "dark nights of the soul". So many courageous exploration of the wilderness within and without. I'm happy now and love the wise woman I've grown into. I'm very skilled a healer, loved by friends and community, and 100% aligned with life purpose.
I believe for all modern person, true healing need two things: 1) Restoring an intimate relation with the natural world. 2) Repairing "inner wilderness", meaning the personal, societal, and ancestral trauma that we all carry. "The Wild" is where we'll find peace and courage, to go from Illness, Wellness, to Fitness and Wholeness. Again and again.
I no longer live in a van, but is still down by the river in rural Kentucky - a tiny house with two horses and friend's 400 acres. I continue to align my work and relation with my values: teaching plants foraging, practicing acupuncture with integrative tools, and organizing intentional community and rewilding conferences. It's been a wild and joyous journey. Come heal, laugh and thrive with me! www.Paikea.Love/events
